Privacy Policy — Prax9 Clipboard Vault

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Prax9 Clipboard Vault (“Prax9”, “the extension”) is a clipboard history and productivity extension for Chrome. It allows users to capture, organize, search, pin, preview, and reuse clipboard items such as text, links, and images.

This Privacy Policy explains how Prax9 handles information when you use the extension.

1. Data Collection

Prax9 does not transmit, sell, or share clipboard history, browsing data, or extension settings with the developer or third parties.

Prax9 does not use advertising trackers, analytics services, telemetry services, or user-tracking technologies. The extension does not require a user account.

2. Clipboard Data

To provide its core functionality, Prax9 can process clipboard content that the user copies or explicitly captures while using Chrome.

Clipboard history can include text, links and URLs, images, the source page URL and title, the date and time an item was saved, whether an item is pinned, and basic item metadata such as type and size.

This information is stored locally on the user's device in the extension's local browser storage. It is not uploaded to Prax9 servers.

3. Website Access

Prax9 runs on webpages so it can detect user copy actions and support user-requested capture features. The extension may access the active page's URL, title, selected or copied content, links, images, and related page information when required for its clipboard functionality.

This access is used only to provide the extension's clipboard history and page-capture features.

4. Images and External Resources

When a user captures or copies an image, Prax9 may retrieve the image from its source URL so the image can be saved or previewed locally. This request is made directly from the user's browser to the image's source website.

Prax9 does not route image contents through a Prax9 server.

5. Local Storage and Retention

Clipboard history is stored locally using the browser's IndexedDB storage. Extension settings and preferences are stored locally using Chrome extension storage.

Prax9 includes configurable retention limits, including a maximum number of clipboard items and a maximum item age. Users can delete individual items, clear unpinned history, or clear stored clipboard history from the extension.

6. Clipboard Read and Write Access

Prax9 uses clipboard read access to support clipboard capture features and clipboard write access so users can copy saved items back to the system clipboard.

These permissions are used for user-facing clipboard functionality and are not used to transmit clipboard contents to the developer.

7. Remote Code

Prax9 does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code. Code required to operate the extension is included in the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

The extension may make network requests for user-requested content such as images, or open external links, but those resources are not used as remotely hosted executable code.

8. External Links

Prax9 may provide links that users can voluntarily open, such as a feedback/contact form or Chrome Web Store pages. Opening these links is initiated by the user.

External websites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Prax9 does not send clipboard history to those external websites merely because a link is opened.

9. Data Sharing and Sale

Prax9 does not sell user data. Prax9 does not use clipboard history or browsing-related data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension's clipboard functionality.

10. Sensitive Content

Clipboard content can sometimes contain sensitive information because users may copy passwords, authentication codes, personal information, financial details, private messages, or other confidential material.

Prax9 does not intentionally categorize or analyze clipboard content for those purposes. Clipboard items are stored locally as part of the user's clipboard history. Users should take care when copying or retaining sensitive information.

11. Security

Prax9 is designed so clipboard history remains on the user's device. Users are responsible for the security of their browser profile and device.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Prax9's functionality or privacy practices change. Updated versions will be published at the same Privacy Policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or feedback, use the Prax9 contact form.
