Prax9 – Privacy Policy

Prax9 – Cookie & Storage Editor (“Prax9”, “the extension”) is a browser extension designed to allow users to view and manage cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage for websites they choose to inspect.

This Privacy Policy explains how Prax9 handles information when you use the extension.

1. Data Collection

Prax9 does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information or browsing data with the developer or third parties.

Prax9 does not use analytics, advertising trackers, telemetry services, or user-tracking technologies. The extension does not create user accounts and does not require users to provide personal information.

2. Website Data Access

To provide its core functionality, Prax9 can access website data when requested by the user, including cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, the URL and domain of the selected browser tab, and website favicon information.

This access is necessary to allow users to view, search, add, edit, delete, import, and export browser storage data. Website data accessed by Prax9 is processed locally in the user's browser.

Prax9 does not transmit cookies, website storage data, browsing data, or extension settings to the Prax9 developer, analytics providers, or other third parties.

3. Cookies

Prax9 requires access to browser cookies because cookie management is one of its primary functions. The extension allows users to view, search, create, modify, delete, import, and export cookies for websites they choose to manage.

Cookies may contain sensitive information, including authentication or session information. Prax9 processes this information locally only for the functionality explicitly requested by the user. Prax9 does not transmit cookie contents to the developer or to external servers.

4. localStorage and sessionStorage

Prax9 allows users to inspect and manage localStorage and sessionStorage associated with websites. This information is accessed locally within the browser when required to perform an action requested by the user.

Prax9 does not transmit localStorage or sessionStorage contents to the developer or third parties.

5. Extension Settings

Prax9 uses Chrome's extension storage functionality to save user preferences and configuration locally, such as language, theme, display mode, layout and interface preferences, and other extension configuration options.

6. Data Export and Import

Prax9 provides features that allow users to export and import browser storage information. Exporting data is performed only when initiated by the user. The user controls exported files and clipboard content. Prax9 does not automatically upload exported information to any server.

7. Remote Code

Prax9 does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code. Code required to operate the extension is included within the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

8. External Links

Prax9 may provide links that allow users to voluntarily open external websites, such as a contact or feedback form and Chrome Web Store pages. Opening these links is initiated by the user. External websites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

Prax9 does not send the user's cookies or website storage data to these external websites.

9. Data Sharing and Sale

Prax9 does not sell user data. Prax9 does not transfer user data to third parties except where required by applicable law. User data accessed to provide the extension's functionality is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to Prax9's single purpose.

10. Data Security

Prax9 is designed to process website storage information locally within the user's browser. Because cookies and website storage can contain sensitive information, users should take care when exporting, copying, modifying, or sharing such information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Prax9's functionality or privacy practices change. Any updated version will be published at the same Privacy Policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
